Primus Sector

The Primus Sector is the heart of the Terran Protectorate, both philosophically and spatially. Almost all of the “core worlds” of the Protectorate are in the Primus Sector, and it is the political capital of virtually all of mankind. It is also one of the most heavily populated, and armed sectors, of known space.

The crown jewel of the sector is, of course, Terra, in the Terra Nuevo star system. This is the capitol of the Terran Protectorate, and considered by many to be humanity’s “home world” (most people refer to Earth as the “cradle world” or “birth world” of the human race).

The other major worlds of the Sector include New Washington; the economic and scientific hub of the Protectorate, York; a bustling industrial planet and the Protectorate’s largest shipyard, Esmeralda; beautiful ringed world of arts and learning, and Alexandria; a jungle moon around a gas giant housing ancient alien ruins that helped catapult the Protectorate’s technology hundreds of years ahead. In addition to these “core worlds” the Primus Sector houses more than a dozen smaller colonies (smaller meaning under 250 million population, in this case), numerous space stations (and is the only sector with three Anchorages), and a massive military industrial complex.

It is, without a doubt, the most important region of human-populated space.

Geography: Primus Sector rests near the “rear center” of the Terran Protectorate, with only the lightly populated Canis sector between it and the Terminus (and old Earth). It is a flattened sphere nearly 30 light years across, with Terra Nuevo as its center.

The Juneau Sector and Cooper’s Veil Sector are between it and the border of Arkhon Space. Hyperion and Leo Sectors lies “spinward” and leads to the Free Colonies, the Empire of Many Suns and the Xintrin Merchant Guild. Towards the thicker part of Orion’s Arm is the Vesta Sector. The only sector Primus does not share a border with is Cooper.
